My 9 year old can not take cough medication! Do you know how irritating that is?!! The reason he can not take it is it keeps him up all night long. Seriously, it does.
The first few times we thought he was messing with us. Nope! He really couldn’t sleep. And neither could we….he would wake us up every hour or so to see if it was time to get up (he was like 6/7 years old then). So now that we know this we can only give him cough medicine on a Friday night or Saturday morning so that hopefully he’ll get some relief and be able to sleep before school starts back up on Monday.
So with our first bout of sickness this fall the drainage started and so did the coughing. So we knew this was going to be a difficult run once again. In the past we’ve tried Delsym, Robitussin, and Mucinex with nothing. So we thought we’d try NyQuil. Nope! Keeps him up too!
So if anyone else can help out what on earth can we give my son I’d greatly appreciate it!
